Per the Letters To the Editor to do with the Sheriff's election.  Sometimes people move to South Dakota to avoid Minnesota personal income tax when they retire.

I don't think I personally can put any validity into a letter written by a person who retired and left this state years ago, who is trying to interfer in local politics.  Its the residents of Freeborn County who we should listen to.

When a person retires , you have the right to live any where you want. And you still can write a letter to any paper.

I think you have been brain-washed by the local Albert Lea boys club.

We hear a lot of complaining and wining by the policeman and the detectives. It basically sounds  a lot like factory workers bitching about their hours and their supervisors.  Do they really think all will be ok if they get a new boss in place?
It may be good for awhile, and then you will have people complaining again and they won't be able to wait for the next election.

As far as the debate, I thought Harig came across very calm.  Kindler, all he did was doodle (like Councilman Baker does constantly when he talks).  Drove us all up a tree.

I have not expierenced it but I've been told they  sometimes call it the code.  Law Enforcement does not let the public know what is going on on the inside.  So if they are telling you this much, it must not be good at all.  They are telling you enough so you can know things are going on that shouldn't be.  No matter  how much they don't like each other, they don't tell the public.  So my guess is, keep pushing.   In the history of Freeborn County, the older population says "they have never heard complaints from the Sheriff's Deputies about their boss, until now."   You can check also and there probably has not been an incumbent sheriff not re-elected in Freeborn County, so history is being made.

Remember, history was being made when Obama was elected, and look what happened.

You have your right to let anyone influence your vote.  But I am not letting Federal or State elections influence my choice for a county election.  And I am not going to let anyone who can't vote here and hasn't lived here for ever, influence my vote.  Don't sell out to the Feds and the State politicians.  Politicians get into trouble when they make it a career.  One more term, then they can "retire".  Its about serving, its about your vote, its about our local government and not selling it out to the Feds.   I'm deciding who to vote for by what happens here.   Sheriff Harig has announced this is his last term.  Is he going to do in his "lame duck" term, what he didn't do in his first eight years?
