What are your feelings on the candidates running for Sheriff in Freeborn County? Hear your current Sheriff has a lawsuit going for the county and just put one of the running mates off after filing for Sheriff. Is he also the one that wanted the county to give him more money the minute he got in ?

Listened to the sheriff debate tonight on the radio and those other two deputies sounded great. Kindler has his work cut out for himself. Listen tomorrow if you missed it at 11:00 o'clock on tv as it will be on and is very interesting.

One thing about sheriffen races in Freeborn County. They are always full of back-stabbin', skeletons revealin',and mud-slingin. They ain't never good clean races.

If kindler gets re-elected will he want another raise , he does not have my vote

I was up near Brainerd and one of their sheriff candidates has billboards and even a giant sign on a semi trailer. I had no idea that job paid so well.

If he thought government money was being spent for personal use then why did he wait until the election to make the accusation? Couldn't he find a cop to report that crime to?

And as far as the Glaziers handling of the issue that caused him to be on paid leave, a lot of people I've talked to think he should have been punished for talking to those kids instead of talking to their parents, the school, or the team as a whole. Most people think he used his position to get special treatment from the school and there is no way in hell a regular citizen would ever be allowed to talk to those kids.I didn't think it was a big deal at first but If he wanted to make a point about bullying he really should have done it with the Sheriff’s permission, he should have done it in uniform, and he should have addressed the team as a whole.
And for all we know those kids might have had just as many marks on them. The kid with the most marks on them is not always the victim or the bullied, sometimes he's just a kid that picked the wrong fight.

I do not know Dale G. but if he was talking to kids he came upon about bullying I would back him 100% because I would have done the same thing. I think your current Sheriff is not truthful as I am sure he knew about it . Funny how the timing was also!!!!! Just my thoughts.

I dont know Glazier and I'd never heard his name before he filed so I have nothing against him but If my kid said he was being bullied what do you think the chances of me having a talk with the kids accused of being bullies? Why didn't he leave it up to the school, is he somehow more qualified to deal with bullying?I'm not saying he did anything illegal but I do think he was using his position as a deputy to get special treatment to be able to talk to the boys and personally I've seen enough of that in this county.
I`d also like to know why he didn't report the questionable spending until he decides to run for office. I'm sure he knows it's illegal considering the ex city manager was just prosecuted for that. You don't question the timing of those accusations, but have an issue with the timing of his paid vacation?

Liberal~ You have a few good points there . As of the spending I may tend to agree but as far as talking to the school I would if knew they would address the problem there, as for the school where I live they do nothing for bullying but turn their heads. I do think remodeling a new office twice, buying two new cars, and having two lawsuits, besides asking for a raise immediately as Kindler done is not what most people would want.

I know dale and have spoke with him briefly on this . he was not talking to the kids as a deputy , he was confronting him as a concerned parent .him being a deputy had nothing to do with it . and yes If kindler is guilty of spending money as said I hope it comes out and the voters know it . it seems like around here everyone who is on a tax payers payroll wants to spend and over spend

But being a Deputy is what got him the access to the kids. When my son had a problem at Central HS I ended up speaking with the Principal regarding bullying of my son by one of the members of the Football Team. I was not allowed to even speak with the kid. Needless to say that when the bullying did not cease as promised I filed charges with ALPD for assault on my son. That finally stopped the picking on the new kid. Plus advising the School that any further contact with this bully would result in me filing a law suit against the School District for failing to provide a safe learning environment when they were on notice of the bully's actions. My son never had a problem after that.

I changed the subject to what you and others have been mentioning about a candidate for sheriff.. Get over it..
Sometimes a bully needs an attitude adjustment..

Looks like Freeborn County will have a new sheriff next year as Kindler barely made it past Glasier and Freitag kicked arse on him !!!!!!! Maybe his wanting a raise right away to his crazy spending and then the lawsuit he has going yet was not his best moves.

Well its been over a year now that our new Sheriff Freitag has taken office.Will anyone in cyberspace out there enlighten us all on the accomplishments and
improvements that have happened in the Freeborn County Sheriff's Office?

I haven't heard a single complaint about him. I can't say the same thing about Kindler or Harig's first year.

I had an issue arise and contacted him via email for suggestions. He called me the next day, gave an opinion of what to do, what the FCSO couldn't do and such. So, with that I'd say he is very approachable, reaches out when contacted. He's got my vote for second term.
