I get up this morning to see they have captured Saddam, what next? I agree this is a very good thing for the Iraqi people, but I dont think for one minute that his capture means everything is going to get better any time soon. I just hope the government in its desire to claim any kind of possitive developement as a victory doesnt let their guard down.

I think a public trial would devert much of the attention of the Sadam Backers maybe bring some sort of order, until he is imprisoned.

I can't believe it, I thought it was a typo or something, until I saw the photo's! I think the administration & the military will be expecting a backlash from Saddam loyalist's, so I don't think they'll let their guard down.
As for what now? When we set the deadline for Saddam and his sons to go into exil, the alternative was a death sentence for all three. I think they should do what's necessary to carry that out with Saddam (after they get whatever information he will give out). I don't know if the U.N. would go against us, but I guess we'll see soon enough.

He's done many evils in his life time and he helps fund Al Quieda. News Flash Osama Bin Laden is part of Al Quieda!!.
So are you saying kid we should have let him stay at large just because he didn't execute 911??

To this day I have not seen one shred of proof of this claim. The Kid is correct, Sadam had nothing to do with 9-11, even the current administration has admitted as much. Iraq was on the wish list of every neo-con, and 9-11 was the excuse with some creative word-smithing. All the invasion of Iraq was? Simple, payback to the big campaign donors by way of lucrative war contracts.

To assume that Saddam had nothing to do with 9-11 is to ignore all common sense and have your head burried in the sands of his desserts!Bin-Ladden and Saddam have worked together without being "kissing cousins"!!! What is there to not connect them.They are both TERRIORISTS with the same goals,To "Get The AMERICANS!!' Oil companys over there supply a large share of the money for military insurgance. In my personal opinion why have a "Fair Trial' that he wouldnt give anyone else!A bullet could save the world a fortune and a lot of time!!!!!

So you too think just because Saddam wasn't the mastermind of 911, he should be forgiven of all other evils he has done and people he has killed. I couldn't care less if he specifically wasn't responsible for 911. He deserves to die, after we get as much info out of him as we can.

From the London Telegraph--very preliminary, CNN and the BBC made mention of this yesterday, it's a long way from being authenticated, but an interesting read. If true, it would establish a link between Al Quaeda and the terrorist Abu Nidal--with funds from Hussein.
