Time for me to Check Out
Posted on: Jul. 22 2008,3:54 am by TameThaTane

Yes, that's it. I can tell that virtually every post from now on is going to be about me or about accusing me or about playing some gotcha game and that takes away from what this forum was supposed to be about.

I'm asking Liberal to permanently delete my account. It's time for me to go... :notworthy:

Bye-bye...

How do we spend our time and lives?
Posted on: Jul. 21 2008,10:15 pm by nphilbro

I thought it might be nice to start a positive thread. Many on this board live in Albert Lea, others have migrated elsewhere.

How about talking about the type of work, volunteering, family stuff you do. Do you like the hours? Customers? Challenge? People? We all live our lives in a certain way, fresh perspective usually gives insight and direction. If you want to remain anonymous, feel free to be ambiguous about the specifics.
I bring this up because I was working with a small business owner recently that reminded me of the finer nuances of life. If this thread takes off I'll share my own, but I'm more interested in what other people find meaningful in the daily drudge we call life.

Special Moments
Life is Good
Posted on: Jul. 21 2008,2:54 pm by GEOKARJO

So many things in life touched my heart and sole.

The birth of my children is the top of my list.

The birth of my grandchildren rate right up as a close second.

Watching everyone turn out to welcome our troops home.

I want to share a special moment I experience when I stand on stage and sing a great song. It is that moment when everyone in the room stops talking and everyone is making eye contact with me listening to me and feeling, the music as much as I am.
They start applauding when the song goes into the instrumental and stand to applaud at the songs finally there is no greater compliment than to know that for a brief moment I was touching their hearts and soles.
