Anyone know where this was? It says Hwy 16 & 65, but that could be anywhere between Broadway & Main and the East Side.

One of the motel units is located on the Notheast corner of I-35 & I-90 interchange--perhaps the ONLY building located near the interchange, despite all the drumbeating. :p

The others are located on the North side of Glenville--they continued as a motel for a time--don't know what they are used for now.

Side note--when they built the King's Food Host (now the pizza place), people from town staked out the site because there were a lot of old bottles there--it was an old landfill.

it seems to me that the motel was still operating into the early '70s in the area that was Hess Furniture/Dinah's style shope...

There was another Motor Court on 65 across from what is now the Dodge dealership [to the west],  those building along with an old sign stood vacant for many years.

Lots of memories but not certain of the exact years, too lazy to dig for the info.  Anybody have access to local historial society information about the local Motor courts?

It was taken out in the early 60's--I know I was still going to school here--graduated in 1965.

The old motel out on old 65 was called the "Colonial".

This would be the area across from the union center next to the downtown McDonalds.  I wonder if the road flood back then too?  Maybe a boat came with the room for those high water events.

There were tourist cabins located on Stevens Rd. behind the Kahler, not sure if any of those building still survive?   Was it once a resort on Goose lake?

Old 65 used to pass right by it, behind the "Kahler" (hard to keep track of hotel names in that area, they switch so often) you can see the remnants of the old highway.  It was a motel/tourist cabin setup.  The ponds were dredged to raise bluegills and sunfish.  Buddy Hanson (no relation) lives there now.  It's the area Roger Bok keeps bringing up about whether it is in the City or not.  (it's not).
