I believe that this is the same location as the present building.  When I was looking for old photos that I posted I recall coming across a statement referring to the original building having been in the same spot.

Yes, exact same spot.  I made that comment in my post about the panoramic view of Broadway.  You can see the old P.O. bldg to the east.
