Okay, sorry. That was an old in-joke with some friends of mine. But seriously... for those of you CSI watchers out there, whaddya think of the new CSI: New York? I guess it's set to air starting next month.. and apparently Gary Sinise is to star in it.

My hubby's favorite show, it just drives him crazy how they use the little flashlights constantly.....even in the sunlight!!!! I'll have to let him know about the New York one.

Hehe. Yeah, it's like the electricity has always been turned off in anticipation of the death notification! If he's looking for more info, try csifiles.com. They've got the date that CSI: NY will be integrated into the CSI: Miami plot (May 17?) and times, etc.

The original is the best. I couldn't get into Miami. I might like New York though?

Las Vegas will always be my favorite. David Caruso just doesn't bring the same wit that William Peterson does to the main role. (Plus I think just about everyone wants to see what's going to happen between Grissom and Sara! Geez! Someone make a move or something!)
I'm really, really interested in seeing how Gary Sinise plays the role, if he is indeed the confirmed male lead. He's an EXCELLENT actor, and I'm curious as to what kind of personality he'll have on TV. (He was in a crime drama in 1986, but it sounds like it flopped.)

Clovis we are on the same page. Those are the same reasons for me as well.

Whoops. It's taken me 19 hours to realize that the thread title should read "CSI: Deadly JAYwalking." D'oh.

CSI Rocks!! My eldest son and I watch it all the time, even the reruns. We try to figure out the killer before the end and see who was right him or me! New York.........hmmm this could be good. Gary Sinise is great but William Peterson is awesome. Gary usually plays a better bad guy When does it start??

Daisy, I think the NY series starts this fall. Check out csifiles.com and read the news page - from what I've read, I think they're going to introduce it the way that CSI: Miami was introduced. The NY characters will first figure in one or two episodes of CSI: Miami as an investigation crops up that has dual jurisdictions in Miami and NYC.
In spite of the Law and Order track that seems to be developing, I'm looking forward to this particular franchise of the CSI series. MUCH more so than "Joey."

I should mention that "Joey" is the spin-off of "Friends" for this fall. NOT a CSI spin-off. Hmmm. Well, I guess that spawns a question: what CSI character would you most like to see have his/her own spin-off?
My vote: Sara Sidle. She's one of two characters that has the most secrets left to show (Grissom being the other one) - but we dont' know a whole lot about her... still. We found out about Grissom's family and his mother's deafness (plus his sign language fluency)... we know that he has a doctorate in entomology, etc. Sarah... we just have hints, but nothing that seems really definitive. I'd like to know more about her background (how do she and Grissom know each other? where'd they meet? how far back does their relationship go?), what events in her past have brought her to be such an advocate for women/victims of sex crimes (I think it goes further than being a young female investigator), and whether or not she's progressed past her take-out food addiction Plus, she's got a wit that's just as dry and caustic as Grissom's.
