Kitten that's great that you are doing well at Slammers. The owners are nice people. It is a friendly atmosphere. They do need more advertising though.

Are the owners new? If so, how long have they owned the place. For a while there the place was really going down hill. On a Friday night we went in there and there were three people sitting at the bar. I asked if the basement was open (they used to have bands down there) and they said no because of lack of customers.
By the sounds of this thread they either changed hands or did some major changes of their own.

The new owners took over shortly after Your Place or Top shelf closed. Slammers was then opened. They only have the main floor.

The owners that were there when it was "Your Place" really screwed things up. I went in there a few times, and if you asked for a drink it was like someone was asking them to chop off their right arm!
I was really reluctant to go back there when I had heard that it reopened but it turned out I knew the owners and they have really tried hard to get rid of the "curse" that seems to be hanging over the place.

I like Slammers but Kitten is right, She does a great job, the bar does need to advertise more and she was dead on about the past owners. I still say that Patty at Eddies is the best "tender" in the area, shes quick, attentive, and makes a good one!!!
Tender... Make mine a double!

Yea right! Last time you had a "double" MONKEY I saw what happened!
A double from patty is like an 12oz shot of straight liquor with a drop of coca cola for flavor! But yes she is a great bartender. Keener at Slammers was great too but he's gone now
