QUOTE ^^ first of all, I don't order fro Cheaper than platonium because of the outrageous price gouging they did after Sandy Hook, there's capitalism then there's taking extreme advantage. If you want a weapon like that save your sheckles and by an AR platform. A S&W M&P can be had for as little as $500, a few dollars more a Ruger. These are much better to accessorize, more options, don't jam and folks won't snicker at you at the range (least not for your gun.) If you're looking for home defense just buy a shotgun and be done with it
^^you don't have to buy it from Dirt---Hi-Point has a lifetime, no questions asked warranty free repairs for the life of the gun, whether you are the first owner, or the third.. Your snaky gun snub comment on Hi-Point because it's a cheaper build means nothing to me...
I do own shotguns, even bought those defense shells, but that would make one hell of mess, SB if you ever fire a 12ga. inside you'll be stone deaf and blind if it's dark.
Small caliber is actually best for indoor home defense,(imo) it's not so deafening, you won't be blinded by muzzle flash in the dark. I don't want to blow holes in my walls or kill my neighbors, just want the intruders out.
The first sign of resistance is enough to drive off intruders, if I lived in the country or a secluded area where any skirmish may be prolonged I'd use other options.

MidwayUSA and Brownells are way better.
As for self-defense, while a shotty is ok, my go to is my AR or my 1911.

^^ AR for home defense? You live in the sticks? I'd worry about wall penetration myself. A 223/5.56 will go through .250 of steel at 50ft.

The Destroyed Academy Strikes Again
QUOTE Professor Wax’s crime consisted in an op-ed in the Philadelphia Inquirer last August in which she and a colleague from the University of San Diego Law School dared to suggest that many of the “bourgeois” values that reigned in America prior to the 1960s were actually good for society and “a major contributor to the productivity, educational gains and social coherence of that period.”
The two professors laid out the “cultural script” embraced during that period in the following terms:
Get married before you have children and strive to stay married for their sake. Get the education you need for gainful employment, work hard and avoid idleness. Go the extra mile for your employer or client. Be a patriot, ready to serve the country. Be neighborly, civic-minded and charitable. Avoid coarse language in public. Be respectful of authority. Eschew substance abuse and crime.
The breakdown of this “bourgeois culture,” they contended, underlies many of today’s social pathologies, while a return to that culture would go a long way toward addressing them.
Oh, the Humanity. Suggesting that people get married before having kids, and that they work hard. Liberal minds=blown.

^a Breitbart spin on morality—when do the Jerry Falwell quotes start?
I'm still waiting for one of our 3%ers to give US a workable solution to these mass shooting.
World Nut Daily claims this kid was on antidepressants, should we pull the right of anyone on these drugs to purchase or own firearms?

It was a Saturday WSJ article, but you need a subscription, so I linked the Breitbart article. The vague criticism of her op/ed is here. The comments are particularly enlightening.
The destruction of the academy is almost complete. PC thugs have taken over. Inauthentic ethnic food is a microaggression. If you have five LGBTQRS@ŁXYZ students on campus, you need gender-neutral bathrooms. And don't even think of having a conservative speaker on campus. That's a no-no now, just like Taco Nite.
I was raised DFL. I suspect my folks were more like Eisenhower Republicans. Either way, neither party remotely resembles what it used to be. That ship has sailed.

Are you trying to drag me out to the deep end or do you just have a nostalgia for Brown shirts and jackboots?

No, I'm trying to figure out what we lost between the time I was a kid and now, that thing or those things that prevented school shootings, but don't anymore.

^^More than likely several factors.. One of my coworkers had a wife who was a School Nurse, he told me the number of kids on some kind of drug was astounding. and this was a grade school! In my day schools still doled out corporal punishment, nowadays it seems behavioral problems are fixed with a pill, we're to quick to diagnose label and prescribe a magic pill that changes brain chemistry.
On the other hand if you read some of these 3%er comments, there is no problem at all, it didn't happen, it was "Deep State Hollywood fiction" "fake news" "it's all a plot to get our guns". we're giving the Meds to wrong people. imo
