A bit brash, but then this forum is not all sugar & spice. It's the topics that are salt on the wounds:
Local's obssessions---greasy food, booze, sex crimes, isolationism, tawdriness, lack of imagination, gossip, hillbilly entertainment, blame games, and themselves.
Sounds familiar.
How discussions of local/national/international events are used as camo to cover personal vindictiveness.
Just as some use Slavemart as poster child for human abuse, so AL has been chosen(out of the glorious cultural desert towns & cities of the midwest)as poster child for civic dysfunction. One man's point of view. And, as far as I know, he's not black. No need to panic.
His assessments of AL are less one-sided than some believe. A city wallowing in the past is not necessarily a political discussion. More like a "community consciousness"...or lack thereof. A Twilight Zone script.
We musn't blame the mirror for what we see.
At least AL proves that, in america, people are free to be what they want.

I agree that Albert Lea wallows in the past and has been in a state of arrested development (at best) for decades. In some ways Albert Lea does indeed suck, and there are postings on that blog that make me laugh. I bet he can't wait to read the Tribune everyday, because it seems there is always something he can use.
What I meant was one-sided was his posting of half a letter from Wayne Thorson, then attacking the follow-up comment for mentioning something in the half of Wayne's letter that he left out. It made the comment look out of context. If someone on the right did the same thing, he would not hesitate to call them out.
I'm not looking for fair and balanced—it's only a blog. I just think that it's somewhat deceiving. If he's going to criticize a comment made, he should at least print the whole letter.

Whaddya mean he doesn't like being mentioned here.
He sure does like to take screen caps, then rail on perceived racist remarks, and the like. Being label a racist now days is a-kin to chicken little and the sky is falling, it is the only cop out a person has left, when an argument isn't going as planned.
Also, why not a link to his site, since he doesn't like it.
Why? Because I can.
