Owner was getting burned out and elected to close.  His son was the primary one behind the bike portion of the business, and has moved to Colorado.

My understanding is he had considered opening for ice season, but the landlord backed out at the last minute and didn't allow him to keep the location.  Not that it mattered since given the distinct lack of ice, the sales probably wouldn't have been good at all.

The biggest reason he left (the straw that broke the camels back) was when he presented his plan and drawings for canoes, bikes, etc. to the city, to be at one of our lakes in town and they said it was a great idea and they would think about it.  A month later, they contacted him and said no, we are going to do that ourselves. He told us he'd had it with the city and was going to get out.

Also, just heard another bike shop is opening up in the next couple of weeks near the area of Tiger City Sports building.
