I was coming into town today from I-35W. I stopped at the stoplight next to Dave Syverson Truck center or old crossroads motors/Bill Olsons Car lot.
As I was waiting for the light to change a Female Trooper had the green arrow to turn in front of me on her way to the State Patrol Headquarters at the State D.O.T. garage.
I noticed she had a cell phone in her right hand and she was checking her messages or texing while DRIVING!!!!!
The moral of my story is ; if your going to ticket a person for breaking the law , don't do it yourself.

Cops can do a they please. Who's gonna bust her, another cop? 
In the old days citizens would not stand for this. In the post Reagan world they feel the police and government are above the law.

Well if she does ever hit someone and there's a witness the Judge will have to give the Trooper a ticket.
Unless the Judge is Mr. Steve Schwab and he tells the Trooper I will give you 90 Days in jail 30 days in and 30 days out , but you only have to serve 60 days because I will ask if you learned anything like he did with the good Sams resthome girls.

I had a state patrol car following me on a short state highway. He was heading to the training center, I assume. It looked like he was going to pass me as he moved half-way across the center line...except he was busy on the phone and suddenly jerked the wheel to the right. 
I am dead certain that he would have stopped me had I done something like that.

So next time get a car number if you can and report it to their commander and if that fails keep going up the chain of command and also utilize the news media to bring this issue out in the open.
I know my wife and I have commented numerous times on how a cop can be on their cell phone talking but it is illegal for us to be driving and holding our cell phone to our ear.

I've noticed they pull out of the cop shop/courthouse lot without yielding. YOU are expected to yield. This kind of act goes directly to ego and these cops are not being supervised correctly. The 24 year old cop feels he can pull out in front of the 60 year old businessman because his butt doesn't stink. It's pretty sad when it comes to that and it's the Chiefs fault. He's letting his men's ego's get out of hand.
Take it out on the Chief, it's ultimately his fault. Whenever that happens you take it right to the Chief. Make it his problem.

I saw this same Female Trooper again at the same stoplights today. She was checking her phone again just like clock work. This time my wife was with me and she said it's time for a citizens arrest.

It's not illegal to make a call, dial, or look up a number in the phone's internal directory. It also does not appear illegal to utilize GPS type functions or MP3 type functions. Perhaps one of these, or a host of other legal things that these phones are capable of doing, was what she was up to. Who knows.
I don't for one second envy the men and women that have the pleasure of serving your pompous, speculative, junior detective/Perry Mason wannabe behinds.
