I just received a phone call from a young man conducting a survey for the Albert Lea school District. He asked many questions about my feelings towards raising taxes to keep teachers and programs in the school district that will be cut due to the loss of funds through the state ect...After he asked how I felt about how the school district spends it's funds, I innterupted him and asked my own question. I asked this guy where he was calling from? His reply was Indiana. I then asked him who he was working for and he stated Jem research from Valparaiso, Indiana. I asked why he was calling for this information when this did not concern him, his reply was that the company he works for was hired to conduct this survey (re: refferendum for property tax increase) Now what really pisses me off is that the school district wants more money or they will make all these cuts, but they have the money to "HIRE" an indepent survey company to call people in Albert Lea!!!!!!!!!!!! Who paid for this and how much did it cost??? BS!!!!!!

Probably one for every spin they wanted to put on why they didn't get the money - except for the one that indicates it's their fault for their lack of financial accountability and underperforming students even compared to smaller, less-funded schools.

It's most likely the same company. The person that told me about it did a reverse lookup on the phone number because the person conducting the poll didn't want to offer any information on who they were.

They are preying on the community and trying to make it sound like total devistation if this is not passed, the fact is they do not tell the truth...my heart goes to the elderly who take this to heart!!! This angers me so bad!!!! The simple fact is: this whole thing is BS! Excuse me folks, but they PAY a lady to sit in a shack in the parking lot and look at kids! UMMMM, we have police officers to protect and serve! Bye parking lot lady! Where could this money savings go?
