Has anyone else noticed that the government channel 16 is really red? I guess I don't know if it's my cable connection or the cities equipment, but if it's the cities equipment then maybe they should spring for a digital camcorder. Or at least learn how to adjust the camera they have.

Looks like the timebase corrector between the playback device and the cable system could use a tweak, too. I guess nobody at Charter knows how to read a waveform monitor/vectorscope anymore.

Thank you Mr. Spock, I thought maybe they were just trying to save money on rouge. :D

Or was it that someone told the mayor his fly was unzipped as he came into the meeting?

I was videotaping the meeting on Tuesday and I noticed a problem with glare coming from the commissioners heads that have thinning hair, and Mullenbach's hair was blending into the walls.

I set the white balance on the camera before I started taping and during the meeting I had no problem switching between the preset white balance settings so I'm pretty sure it wasn't the camera causing the problem.

Anyone know what could be causing this?

I've been looking at the video and it looks like the lighting has somehow changed.

Here's a 1mb clip of the cheesy intro for the meetings and you can see the difference in the two videos. The first part of the video is from 2 weeks ago and then it transitions into this weeks video and you can see the difference.

I haven't changed any settings on the camera in the last two weeks but I noticed there was a speck of dust on the wide angle lense. Could a speck of dust on the lens cause this?

Just eyeballing it, I can see that the video levels between the two clips differ by about 20 IRE. IRE is a measurement of video units, 7.5 being usable black, and 100 being full white.

Maybe you can iris down - the higher f-stop will give you a wider depth of focus as well.
