a pair of Republican bills would allow telecommunications companies to sell their customers’ private internet data — but their sponsors claim the legislation would actually protect consumer privacy.
H.J.Res 86, introduced in the House by Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), which has attracted 17 Republican co-sponsors.
Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) introduced S.J.Res 34,
What we have here is another Republican intrusion into our right of privacy...

Republicans have been dismantling these important privacy protections, They tried to attack net neutrality and privacy in the past and we beat them.
Because of folks like you who get their information from places like Breitbart, limbaugh, fox or other Reichwing propaganda we're losing our rights daily...Because you believe the Republicans represent your interests..try a little Cspan or Congress.gov library of Congress see just what these bought and paid for fascists are doing to you..

Not a fan of this either. I get enough bull sh!t mail, targeted ads, and phone calls. Don't want/need more. I'd like to chose where I get targeted from.

I worked with an engineer that swore up and down that the ringer on a Western Electric model 500 phone was microphonic, and that others could listen in on what was being said around such a phone, whether it was on-hook or off-hook. He went on to say that if you didn't want to be eavesdropped on, but you still wanted your phone to ring, you simply put a small neon bulb in series with the ringer.
Ah, the good old days.
