The last Presidential debate is on October 19, and I want to make sure that the discussion features one of the most important issues facing our nation: the future of Social Security.

If the next President doesn't take bold action on Social Security, we could see our hard-earned benefits cut by nearly 25% in less than 20 years. That's unacceptable. Yet in many of the primary debates, the moderators didn't even ask the candidates where they stand on this critical issue. Or if they did, they let the candidates get away with empty soundbites instead of specifics.

That's why I sent a message to moderator Chris Wallace urging him to hold Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump accountable by asking them tough Social Security questions at the upcoming debate. Will you join me and help turn up the pressure?

Thanks, and pass it on!

I'm pretty sure it was you that mocked me for saying SS was in trouble years ago, now you say it is?

Let me guess, aarp said it was so, that's alright with you. :dunce:

@ the idgit..
Social Security wouldn't be facing any problems if not for the radical right and their war on the working class.. The Republican Party has done everything in their power to lower wages from outright union busting legislation to movements to abolish the minimum wage..

Why do think we've had stagnate wage increases from the 1980's? As social security is funded by our wages low wages and stagnate increases created a funding problem...

At present the Social Security Trust fund holds over 2.7 trillion dollars but with 10,000 turning 65 daily we're only fully funded for the next 20 years. Not a bad cushion but had there not been a Republican corporate lackey war on workers this cushion would have been doubled and carried US through the boomer bulge...

We need to address this issue before it reaches a critical state.

All you hear from Republicans is raise the age and lower the benefits give the money to wall street robber barons ... they call Social Security an entitlement..hogwash, I paid in for 48 years that's no entitlement...

I don't want to hear any more about Trump's sex life or Clinton's emails lets make this debate about America's future!

But you've said in the past, SS is solvent, which is it?

Wages go up if one applies oneself.

So you're saying SS will be solvent for another 10-15 years, F^*k everybody else that comes behind you, I see :sarcasm:

I have and do apply myself every day and I'm quite pleased with the results.

A quick question for you, the Allina strike up here is over, 200-300 nurses crossed the line yet they won't be fired and will continue to work for Allina.
How's that work?

^^Don't know much about Allina/Abbott strike other than a friend from the utility I worked for told me, his wife was hospitalized for a bad infection, he told me you couldn't find a nurse in the place.

He's a big bald white man, the security guard told him he shouldn't be walking alone after dark outside the hospital parking ramp. the guard actually walked him to his car..it wasn't striking Nurses the guard was concerned about but local riffraff..

He had his wife transferred to the burn center down in Burnsville.

You couldn't get me to work or live in the Muderapolis area again..

The brain is the most powerful weapon. So you are screwed there.

And you are a big pussy. Like the vast majority of gun carriers these days.

Not much of a big mystery as you seem to think it is.

The possibility of having to draw a weapon is very remote and I hope and pray I'll never have to. Many of my peers follow suit. We work in areas of car jackings and random shootings and choose to take responsibility for our own safety.

It's a big world out there precious.

I'm guessing you couldn't pass a background check with an addiction past.

Trump's plan for Social Security and Medicare, he doesn't have one, it'll take care of itself when I give the rich and corporations the largest tax cut in history...

When Hillary says Trump will have to pay his share he calls her a nasty woman...
