what is going on up at the hospital? this is the second time that i know of recently that patients have been shuttled off to austin because there was no rooms available here in albert lea. this is a inconvenience not only for the patient, their families as well as their personal physician. the persons i have talked to are very disappointed with the local hopital ! perhaps there is someone on this forum who could give some insight into this situation.

There is only so much space. People have been hit hard by the bug going around, particularly the elderly. Also have been many staff affected by it as well along with their families. Kinda combined for a perfect storm of meaning some people will receive care in the best possible location that is available at the time.
There really isn't such a thing as shared rooms anymore in hospitals thanks to HIPAA. Once a room is full, it's full.

It's not bed bugs, it's a virus going around, same reason Austin was full.
