^^ nope, never rode a scooter, with those small wheels they're death waiting to happen (but feel free to enjoy one, maybe on your nightly trip to the rest area😂)
I've owned Hondas Yamahas(excellant product line, my new outboard is a Yamaha) Kawasakis, even old English stuff like Norton and BSA. I'm up north this week fishing and saw a BMW GS with Alaska plates on it, not all that uncommon for that bike.
I haven't rode in probably 6-7 years but I plan to again soon and I guarentee it won't be a POS bike like a Puke Davidson.
Get out and enjoy life, do something besides sitting in your apartment bitching at people.

If you're that big you need something Harley-like.
I would rank Japanese bikes:
1. Honda 2. Suzuki 3. Kawasaki 4. Yamaha
I rated Kawasaki over Yamaha because they ushered in the crotch-rocket speed bike and John Deere put their motors on their lawn mowers.
Also Yamaha dirt bikes never seemed to be able to take much aggressive driving. At least that was my experience with them and watching others.
But products and companies can change over time for better or worse. Look at Samsung for example: They sure seemed to have taken a much better position than they used to have.
I'm sure your Yammie boat motor is just fine.
If you get a well built moped/scooter they can work just fine. Especially if you only have a relatively small distance to travel.
Personally They're all fun to me. A bike or scooter that runs is bliss. Back in the Stand by Me days we were always happy to have anything. And you just didn't really think about brand names and such when you were riding them.
I find that all to be a silly distraction from the sublime experience of being on a bike.

Honda's CB 750 came in in 1969, brew all competitors out of the water, 7 years later the Gold Wing, Honda's been doing it right a long time.

The various reverse trikes look interesting. I saw a Batmobile looking one in Mankato a few weeks ago that looked pretty neat.
Danica Patrick was endorsing them for a while. They don't seem to be going anywhere. I thought they said you don't need a motorcycle endorsement for one either.
They sure don't seem to be going away.
It would be fun to take one for a spin. . .

Yeah snowmobile wheel-kits have bean around for what seems like forever. I've never seen anybody actually buy one before, tho.
The grass drags always looked interesting. Well that's one way way of putting it anyway.
There's a pretty elaborate conversion - http://thekneeslider.com/2005-yamaha-r1-powered-snowmobile-on-wheels/

Here's a non permanent kit and you can see why no one would bother with it -
