I saw a news segment last week about all the jobs available in town so I thought I would put my application out there to see what the market is like. I applied at three retail locations all on line last Wednesday. The first one to contact me was Walmart. I received a phone call to be interviewed today at 10 am. I arrived at the specified location 10 minutes early was met by the personnel manager and she went over my application. She then introduced me to the associate that would be conducting the interview. I extended my hand to shake his, he ignored my gesture and said, "Come with me".
I looked at him and said, "No, this interview is over. Your too good to shake my hand, I don't need to work here". I then left.

It was a sign that the guy mean't business and was going to hire you if you just did some simple stuff like shut up and follow him. Sometimes it is us that has to suck up our pride...that is until we own our own Walmart. You just walked away from an easy job for no reason. If that's too much just get a drug felony. What most people don't know is that drug felons get SSI for life. It's what makes them qualify.

You must not have wanted to get a job very much, if you let that little thing get to you.
There are a lot of unemployed people out there, right now. It's a buyer's market for employers, and they know it, and as a result, can afford to be choosy.

Good for you Gabe! Why Gabe left is exactly what us wrong with the service industry in many places. Many don't have the slightest idea of the concept of "customer service,"! It all starts with the interview process. 'Sucking it up' might be enough for some, but others take it much more seriously. Why would anyone want to waste each others time? Remember the interview process is a 2-way street...

Well, it is that customer service works like this now. It used to be that the customer is always right... to... some customers, we just don't want. There's an old Polish proverb that goes...
No, The Ferengi ROA manual says...
57-Good customers are as rare as latinum -- treasure them
203-New customers are like razortoothed grubworms. They can be succulent, but sometimes they can bite back.
106- It's always good business to know about new customers before they walk in the door.
55- Sometimes the only thing more dangerous than a customers question is an answer.
309-When in doubt, lie.
189-Let others keep their reputation. You keep their money.
109-Dignity and an empty sack is worth the sack.
99-Trust is the biggest liability of all
47-Don't trust a man wearing a better suit than your own
24-War is good for business.
25-Peace is good for business.
177- Know your enemies ... but do business with them always
163-Even in the worst of times someone turns a profit
141-Only fools pay retail
121-Everything is for sale, even friendship
104-Faith moves mountains ... of inventory
85-Never let the competition know what you're thinking.
66-Every once in a while, declare peace. It confuses the hell out of your enemies
59-Free advice is seldom cheap.
33-It never hurts to suck up to the boss
55-Never let a woman insult a ferengi over a small penis size ... let her insult about something he cares about instead like his latinum
27- There's nothing more dangerous than an honest businessman
44-Nothing is more important than your health--except for your money
