Can anyone tell me what radio station they listen to. I am really tired of our local ones (no offense), as all they seem to play is head banging music (hard rock). I would like something a little easier to listen to and work to, and do not prefer country either. I would appreciate your thoughts.

105.3 is adult contemporary. It plays 70's to 90's. 106.1 plays 80's pop to now.

Both Sirius and XM Satellite Radio offer the ability to listen to their respecive services via the internet as a standard feature of their basica $12.95mo package. Might want to consider that as another option. Radios are avalible that work in your home, with a cradle for the car for less than $150 and cheaper still after rebates. Commercial free and high quality sound.

89.3 The Current, MPR's latest offering plays an incredible eclectic mix of tunes. I've picked it up as far south as Blooming Prairie, and that's in my car. Get an old TV/FM antenna, point it north, and give it a try.

I listen to The Current as well. Also available online at http://minnesota.publicradio.org/radio/services/thecurrent/ . Seems like the morning show is carried on many of the MPR stations like 90.5 or 91.7, but not the rest of the day if you don't get 89.3.
Kitty, if you can't get 104.3, try 92.1, it's the same oldies feed from KRUE Waseca. I don't get why 102.7 changed to country, it's owned by Three Eagles (same as KATE/KCPI and KAUS FM100). Doesn't seem to make sense when they've got FM100's 100,000 watt stick blasting country all over south MN and north IA. Perhaps it changed hands and I missed it.
KOWZ 100.9 plays a pretty good mix of 70s, 80s and 90s too from Owatonna, very good signal in AL. As mentioned on another thread, Dale Sigfried "the Vinyl King" has a great oldies show on Friday nights 7-10p on KOWZ. Linda Brekke, formerly of KATE does farm market reports as well (Linder Farm Network).

There is a new radio station in the area and I just love it. It's 102.7, The Blaze. It's out of Mason City. It was once an oldies station, then went country. Now it is similar to 93X. Check it out. It Rocks!!
