Check this out:

http://droughtmonitor.unl.edu/

Anyone who thinks that the current economy, unemployment, wars, illegal immigration, the housing crisis, gay marriage, or pretty much anything else should be scared to death of this. If this drought continues all of these things will be a mute point.

I realize there is not much anyone can do about it. Lets just pray we don't find out what a disastrous agricultural event will do to this country.

We've had droughts before, we'll probably have them again.

If you can buy some food ahead I would though.

NPR was quite abuzz with drought news today. Fast-forward to November, when the cost of anything edible looks like three times more than now.

NPR said that, huh? It's never a bad idea to stash some extra food. Before anybody gets smart and labels me some sort of prepper, I grew up with my Mom pretty much spending the whole summer canning everything she could. We also had a freezer full of meat.

Always thought we were a bunch of dumbasses for burning our food. I wonder how bad gas will go up with corn heading form eight fifty a bushel??? :dunce:
