I heard on KATE radio this morning a fellow who did not have to give his name and or make his identity known insult our city government and citizens of our community involved its effort to build and promote a healthily lifestyle and camaraderie that is free to the public. The Bancroft Disc Golf Course.
He stated he disagreed with disc golf course stating it was a hazard to the to the citizens and wildlife.
The nerve of some people using a public forum to insult our valued city leaders without identifing themselves.

Where were "all" these people while the invasive brush and the cleaning of the paths were taking place. You would think if they used this park like they say they do they might have noticed something was going on. Now that everything is said and done and a neighbor who had never been to Bancroft before is upset and gets their friends involved they cry foul. I guess the disc golfers should apologize to the doctors, their wives and their friends for not going door to door and asking permission first. Seriously some of the people in this town are ridiculous.
As for the city leaders no comment necessary we know what we got. I'm surprised they allowed this since it's not strictly for seniors or tiger hills.

I am more concerned about all the dog crap in the parks. I felt like I was walking through a mine field at the park today. I am really beginning to hate dog owners. Never been concerned about being hit by a frisbee but have stepped in crap way too many times.

My resume: I have owned dogs and I have tried disc golf one time.
The whole issue of the course being dangerous seems just a tad over the top. Based on many of the recent, and oddly similar, letters to the editor one would think the ER is going to be flooded with bloody disc golf injuries. I suspect dog bites account for significantly more hospital visits every year.
Additionally, the impact on wildlife seems to be overblown in the recent letters. Based on the letters to the editor one would think the shoreline would slide into the lake from the erosion and the animals would be be leaving the area in droves. I'm gonna have to go out on a limb and call BS on that one too and suggest that dogs are likely worse where wildlife is concerned. The impact of the brush removal strikes me as minimal.
