Cops won't charge dad who killed his daughter's abuser

■'Hero' dad kills man who allegedly abused his daughter
Opinions were sharply divided about what should happen to the dad from Shiner, Texas, who used his bare hands to beat to death a man he reportedly caught sexually assaulting his 5-year-old daughter. Now police have announced their verdict: The father won't be charged. "He was just protecting his daughter and doing what he thought he had to do to protect his daughter," said Sheriff Micah Harmon from the Lavaca County Sheriff's Office, adding that he believes the father is remorseful for his actions. Harmon concluded that the incident had been "traumatizing" for the girl and her family -- something everyone is sure to agree on.

Good to see they didn't charge him, the thought should have never come up, but in the midst of a tragedy like the abuse, there is a win for the good. One dead scumbag!
My heart and prayers for the daughter, may she recover.

I thought I saw the word "alleged", but I guess the media has been slowly losing that part of it.  Granted, in Texas you can get away with just about anything if you say a dark skinned guy tried to rape a white girl.

Don't believe me?  Texas holds a comfortable record above all states for wrongfully convicted men, and they're almost always dark skinned adult men wrongfully convicted of raping a white girl.  Innocence Project:  Texas

Or read about any random 20th Century lynching down south, even some rare occurrences up here in the north.  They almost always go something like this, "dark skinned guy allegedly tries to rape light skinned girl."

A little more skepticism and Texas wouldn't have such a ridiculously high murder and incarceration rate.  But forget all that, time for some Toby Keith!  Yee-haw!!

Wow please do not be a typical "bang the racist drum" idiot. This had nothing to do with skin color. It had everything to do with someone destroying a child and the great justice delivered to him. I don't care if your white, black, yellow or red, your sexually assult a child you need to be put down.

Thanks for your not so impressive input. Maybe 3T can come on now and get this to a drug rant.:sarcasm:
