Page 6 has learned that long time KATE radio employee Steve Oman was let go Friday. The move is reportedly due to syndication moves by parent company Three Eagles Communications based out of Lincoln Nebraska.
Good Luck Mr. Oman, may you land on your feet soon.

That is sure bad news. Steve is a good guy. I am surprised he choose to stay as long as he had.

This is not the first person they have sent down the " RIVER. "
Dave N.  was also sent down the river by this company years ago after he was promoted from sales to Station Manager.
I was told this info by his Nephew Ryan Nolander.

That Garage Logic crap is virtually unlistenable.
That Steve O was one of the few people I have ever heard who actually sounded like they had an inkling of a clue as to what they were doing when they would interview people.
Particularly when it came to the political process. You see some folks even like on regional PBS that ask questions and then nod their heads. And they seem like they haven't a clue about any of it.
Which is good if you are being interviewd I guess. It keeps you from getting really grilled. lol

You ever listen to their afternoon programming now. It sucks! I'll turn it on around 5-5:30 and it's the same old crap. This is Three Eagles idea of local radio?

Thank goodness for other GOOD radio stations in the area so WE don't have to listen to that crap that starts at 2:00pm on KATE. I sure wish Steve O. the best of luck...I miss his afternoon programing that he did....kept us up to what was going on in the area.

I think it's safe to say now. Steve got a lot of complaints from listeners about the programming Three Eagles chose instead of the regular stuff they had before. Personally, if Daryl or Steve aren't on the air, I generally change the station anyway.
