That is really too bad and very short sighted what the Hinnenkamps are doing. We have a unique perspective in the state of Washington that I think gives us balance and understanding (not that others can't).

Our state is politically very liberal and is overwhelmingly against the political action with our troops in Iraq, we also have Army (Fort Lewis), Air Force (McCord AFB), Marines (Bangor), Navy (Bremerton), and Coast Guard. We all know many people serving in Iraq. We barbeque with their spouces and families. We know some of the fallen and have attended their funerals.

We all know that it is a difficult situation. How can we be against a war and not imply that a loved one died in vain? It's a dillema that has no easy answer. My mantra is simple-  support our troops, bring them home. I have friends and neighbors that I haven't seen in two years. I've seen others come home only to be dysfunctional and go through divorce, severe drug abuse, or suicide.

These troops are our brothers and sisters. Who in the hell would protest them?

I have a T-Shirt that says - "It's too bad stupidity isn't painful."

Freedom of speech does not prevent you from being an a-hole.

Note to Ted and Mary: from the AP--Obama broadens mission in Afganistan.
Where are the "war protesters". Can't the democrats stop this war. Come on Ted and Mary. What you say?

Good grief.  At first I thought they were at it again.  Didn't realize at first how old this thread was.

I could not resist. If it were a republican in office they would be screaming to high heaven. But, a democrat expanding the war is ok.
