I find it odd that nobody has bothered to make a post regarding the death of this dynamic woman and the powerful force she was in Pakistani politics.
Benahzir followed in her fathers footsteps and was a woman unlike most of those found in the Islamic world. She was an outspoken leader for change in the Islamic world and her presence will be sorely missed.

She was another example of how broken the middle east is. Someone with ideas to further their country and she gets snuffed. Kind of shows how they deal over there. Now her whole family has been eliminated.

I don't understand why her 19 year old son is now the heir apparent.

Apparently not everyone thought she was (or at least had been) a force for change. I read this commentary the other day...
QUOTE "She never realized her potential," a woman from Karachi tells me. "And not because she was killed but because when she had the chance, she did not effectively challenge the backward mindset that has now led to her demise."
For example, during Bhutto's time in office, Pakistan didn't defy the anti-female rape and adultery laws. Those notorious ordinances, known as Hudood, took their inspiration from tribal politics masquerading as Islam. CNN Commentary: Bhutto failed to modernize Pakistan
That's not to say that if she had gained office again (15 years later), she might have done more.
I'd have to review a little history, but I wonder if Indira Ghandi and Bhutto were both victims to some degree of those who preferred male-dominated politics and society?
Having said that, I agree, she was the hottest thing going in a burka.

I can show you the world Shining, shimmering, splendid Tell me, princess, now when did You last let your heart decide?
I can open your eyes Take you wonder by wonder Over, sideways and under On a magic carpet ride
A whole new world A new fantastic point of view No one to tell us no Or where to go Or say we're only dreaming
A whole new world A dazzling place I never knew But when I'm way up here It's crystal clear That now I'm in a whole new world with you Now I'm in a whole new world with you
Unbelievable sights Indescribable feeling Soaring, tumbling, freewheeling Through an endless diamond sky
A whole new world Don't you dare close your eyes A hundred thousand things to see Hold your breath - it gets better I'm like a shooting star I've come so far I can't go back to where I used to be
A whole new world Every turn a surprise With new horizons to pursue Every moment red-letter I'll chase them anywhere There's time to spare Let me share this whole new world with you
A whole new world That's where we'll be A thrilling chase A wondrous place For you and me
