Can we expect to see something like this posted where the poll used to be located?
"Due to abuses by our readers, the Tribune's poll has been suspended indefinately"?
Or, how about
"Due to abuses by our SUBSCRIBERS, publication of the Tribune has been suspended indefinately"?

I'm glad he removed it. The poll was in poor taste in the first place. This isn't a freakin popularity contest, it's our county government.

Agreed Liberal, even I thought it was in poor taste, it seemed to me Belden was just trying to prove to all of us that we were actually the obsessed minority. Just one more thing that blows up in his face.

Don't be so sure about being part of the minority but then again you might be. But the poll would have no relationship to this. Polls like this are for entertainment and are billed that way by people that host them.
Try not to jump to conclusions about ballot suffing and inexpensive tools by the Tribune. Even if you could prevent people from voting more than once, there are still ways to beat the system. I have gotten e-mails from people who say something like "go here and support"....and then give you the link. Some of lists contain several hundred people.
If I wanted to, and I don't I could broadcast about 900 people in Freeborn County and alert them to the poll. Not all 900 of them would respond, but enough would to throw the poll off.

What make you think it will be easy to beat them? At this point, I would not bet against them.

Do you mean beat the polls (vote more than once) or beat the two that will not be elected?

okay, thanks. I think that the voters have a problem with the inavailiblity of Springborg and his changes in residency since he first came to serve. Yes, that seems personal but the public may feel that his personal life reflects his decision-making abilities as well.

That could very well be. It may seem personal, but many time that is how people vote. In fact, that type of thing may hurt a candidate more than their voting record.

Wouldn't be the first time. Garry Hart comes to mind as a perfect example.
