What do you say, fact or fiction. If fiction, how did this rumor start, based on fact? If fact, how is that working out?

I'm not sure if they actually did it or just planned to do it but the Northwood Anchor ran a story on it last summer. I think a couple of the rules were that trailer houses didn't count and you had to stay there for a certain number of years and have kids that would attend the school district.
I doubt it would work though $5000 just isn't that much money when you figure you'd have to become an Iowegian to collect it.

You're right Liberal, the Anchor did run a story on it. I believe the time limit was 5 years. (could be wrong on it though) Going to the Anchors website, there is no archives to search.

I can also verify seeing it--it seems that you had to stay there a certain length of time.
