ALHS Winter Sports
I have been following ALHS sports programs for many, many years, and I have never seen a season of success like the Tigers are having this Winter! Usually when one team is up, the others are down. Not this year. Someone should calculate the program-wide winning % -- I bet that there has never been a better sports season.
Look at wrestling, basketball, hockey, and swimming -- all of the ALHS teams are doing (or have done) great!!! The girls sports teams are good also. Girls hockey is really making a name for itself (good job Coach Fornwold), and the hoops girls are finishing strong.
Special mention goes to the ALHS Boy's Hockey Team and coach Roy Nystrom!! It has been a long time coming for you to make it to the State Tornament!! It has been a top notch program for many,many years, and this is the true reward.
Boys -- get fired up! There will never be a time like this for you!!! Leave it all on the ice!! As Roy will tell you -- put on your hard hats and bring you lunch buckets!!! Those Cities teams may have more talent, but NOBODY out-works a Tigers hockey squad -- ever!
Hopefully a good part of the town can skip out of school and work to get there.
It is a proud time to say that we are from Albert Lea!!! It says a lot about the coaches, the youth programs, the parents, and the kids themselves. We'll see you at the game tomorrow!! (12:00 noon -- St. Paul X center).

I have been waiting for years for the Tigers to do it like they did in the 1960's and 1970's, heck, these kids have surpassed even those years. Good job to a great bunch of kids. I sure don't mind my taxes going up for the new school. I believe it has invigorated the entire community!!! Go TIGERS!!!

There will be no school on Wed. for ALHS and if they win on that date, there will be no school on Friday as well. Now that's been a long time in the making. And we definately got the team spirit. GO TIGERS!!!!
