Let me get this straight...cops bust into young families home and find 2 grams of meth which will give them a mandatory 5 years, no parole sentence and the headline reads about pot?! :O

Since when is pot more shocking then meth smokin'?   We really need to get our priorities straight.

Agreed Minnow, the funny part of that story is that the guy said he was ashamed of the quality of the pot he could grow. Said he is not very good at it. But you seen who served the warrant right? Its the same guy that said in the paper a few months ago something about the drug dealers are happy because he is injured and off work. Remember that story?

good question minnow, can I add to it?

Since when (and where) does an employee get a contract extention along with some kudos after doing a lousy job for 30 years?

Answer: Since 2004 in Albert Lea.

minnow, you act like you are surprised about any of this?!?

Unbelievable.  Albert Lea's finest at work.  And their so proud of it!  Front page of the paper even!  I wonder how much it cost to investigate and bust these people for small quantities of drugs.  And then they scream for more money.  Seems like better use could be made of existing resources.  Wonder if the family owned a house - hope they didn't have a lot of equity in it.  Be a shame to pay so much cause their kid was growing a little worthless ditch weed.

LOL @ ironmaiden.

Thats what the new jail will be full of, drug users. Sure am glad to get those hardened criminals off the street. With Harig as sherriff, and Ferris Fife, as in Barney Fife, fighting the drug war, its a good thing we got that jail.  :D

Dont get me wrong here, if they were dealing meth, or making, thats one thing, but 2 grams? They are just users. But they will do more time than people that commit far worse crimes.

Maybe its time for some treason.  a revolution.  an angry mob marching on city hall with torches.  flat tires and busted windows on police cars in the middle of the night.  a cross burning in the mayors yard.  a bomb in the new jail.  an initiative on the next ballot to recall certain officials?  moving out of town.
