They're choosing to live in "sin," as you call it, about as much as you or I choose to have blue or brown eyes.  You can hide it, but the truth is just underneath the surface.  And big news flash, just because the Bible says something doesn't make it true.

I disagree completely with your first sentence, and can prove you wrong.  It is not something one is born with.  And, to use your line of logic, I can choose any eye-color I want.  If I was born with blue eyes, and wanted green, I could buy the contacts that would turn my eyes green (or black, white, pink, spider-web, whatever I choose).

So how does this tie in with your defense?  Using your ideology, I just proved your thesis to be wrong (or at least have glaring holes).

I agree with you on your thoughts about the Bible.  I feel it should be read and interpreted and not taken word-for-word.  I think that anyone could find a quote from it to defend just about anything if they looked long enough.
But, where did I mention the Bible anywhere in my previous post?  I never did.  Just because I mention sin, you assume I would use the Bible as a defense?  Sorry to burst your bubble, but nope.  I am using my ideology, and making my case.  You used yours, and I provided fault in it.  We can agree to disagree, but I'm not going away.

Also, if no one states the difference between those words, I'll post on here what it is around New Years (that should give people time to look it up, if they so choose).

You didn't disprove anything.  Yes, you can buy contacts to change your eye color, but that is only hiding what is underneath.  It's not changing anything.  If you read my previous post you'll see I said you can hide it but the truth is still underneath.

I'm going to go back a little bit (and get more on-topic).

Same-Sex Marriages:  I am completely against it.  As a poster noted previously, matrimony is more religious than social or political.  It should be saved for male/female relationships.

Same-Sex Unions:  I have no problem with this.  In my opinion, this is the same thing as having a same-sex roommate (only to a slightly-larger extent).  If they choose to live this way, they should be given a chance to 'join.'  As I stated earlier, I have nothing against the people, I just view the act as wrong.  They can 'join' in a state-recognized union, but, as far as I am concerned, not in marriage.

I feel that the choice of living as a homosexual is the act of hiding.  it can be hiding from many possible things, it can be running from many possibilities, or it can be a cry for attention.  However it is broken down, being a homosexual is masking the truth.  Back to my ideology, God made us all in his likeness.  From Adam, came Eve.  God created humans (men), and needed to create a match for him (enter Eve).
On Nov. 19, Fresno stated something that is usually viewed as being rude, but it is true.  Created were Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.  Now, I understand that this is very offensive, but I am trying to prove my point that being homosexual is in fact hiding what is truly underneath.

There are many, many religious homosexuals out there.  Why shouldn't they have the same chance to be joined in "holy matrimony" as an opposite-sex couple?  Again, just because the Bible says something doesn't make it true.  I think Man warped the Bible for their own personal agenda, I think very little is actually God's word anymore, so why should someone's personal agenda prevent a happy, loving couple from being joined in the eyes of their God?  Until God Himself comes down, taps me on the shoulder, and says "Lisa, I really don't like gay people getting married" I'm not going to buy the BS that "God hates gays".

You obviously didn't read Lisa Marie's post carefully.  She explains that you can hide your true eye color, but beneath the surface is the truth.  (Meaning fake lenses!!!!)  Read carefully and slowly.  I agree completely with what Lisa Marie posted.  I think you are ignorant!!

Sorry, you both were posting the same time as me!!

You contiue to say "those people" are hiding something.  What is it that they are hiding?

You are correct Tiger - at first, I did not read the post carefully enough.  But then, I reposted (my last post prior to this one) and addressed my mistake, and that part of her post.

LisaMarie- You are correct.  There are, unfortunately, many religious persons who choose homosexual lifestyles.  This is true, but it can still be wrong.  Hence the whole free-will aspect of being a human.  :)

Again, just because the Bible says something doesn't make it true.
Now, this is starting to get old.  Have I ever once stated that I feel this way because the Bible says I should?  If I did, please show me where.  Is it not possible that I have witnessed multiple points of view, sermons from multiple religions, talks from people anti-religion, and have forged my own ideology?  (hint-that's what happened...and no, I have not witnessed all religions, or all perspectives, but I did listen with open ears while forming my ideology)

Man warped the Bible?  I agree, to an extent, with this.  Every translation will lose a little of the true meaning of the original text (be it the Bible or a children's book).  Translate something from English to Spanish to French to English.  It will not end up as the same thing.  The Bible has been translated so much that it is impossible to take it word-for-word now (unless someone can find the original language and understand it - which I cannot).  But, one can use the stories and messages and interpret them.  Spidey (someone who argues the same side of this issue as you do) even agrees with this statement.

so why should someone's personal agenda prevent a happy, loving couple from being joined in the eyes of their God?
someone's personal agenda should not stop a 'joining' of two people.  Hence what I stated previously - Same Sex Union is okay.  Same Sex Marriage is not.

With the understanding that God can see all (this is a fairly universal belief - no matter who one feels God is): Would a couple truly need to enter marriage for God to see the union?  Is not a marriage more for humans to recognize the union than for God to recognize it?  Am I wrong with this last bit?

Tiger - does adding exclamation points to a statement add more meaning?  Does "I agree!" mean more than "I agree!!!"?  sorry, but I have always wondered about the multiple ex. points in posting, and hope you can enlighten me.

I think you are ignorant!!
From Dictionary.com:
Ignorant - adj.
1- Lacking education or knowledge.
2- Showing or arising from a lack of education or knowledge: an ignorant mistake.
3- Unaware or uninformed.

Other definitions:
1-Destitute of knowledge; uninstructed or uninformed; untaught; unenlightened.
2-Unacquainted with; unconscious or unaware
3-Unknown; undiscovered

I was wondering: which of these am I?

About what is being hidden - homosexuals hide from the truth of who they really are.

This has been an entertaining part of the afternoon.  Unfortunately, I have to go do some other things now.  I'll try to check back within the next couple of days.  Hopefully, this discussion will keep its interest.
If I am unable to say this in person to any of you; May you all have a very merry winter season as well as a happy new year!

May the ice on your roads melt and the snowballs fly fast from your hands
