Here are a couple quotes from the Mason City editor.
Quote | Metro said the newspaper has an obligation to ensure the public is fully informed of all business being considered by governmental bodies.
|
Quote | "We want to see the Open Meetings Law respected and obeyed. Iowa has a long-standing tradition of open government and the Globe Gazette will act as a watchdog to see that the law is respected, not circumvented,” Metro said.
|
Wouldn't it be nice if Albert Lea had a newspaper like that?
Instead we can have a reporter that sits in a meeting where circumventing the open meeting law is openly discussed and he doesn't even report on it or look into it.
Maybe that's one of the reason Mason City is growing and Albert Lea is stagnant.

Quote (minnow @ Jan. 11 2004,4:55:pm) | Huh? Wha tha hell are you talking about? I didn't post that..whatever it was...I didn't even see it. |
I'll refresh your memory, it was on page 6 in the smoke free food court thread, until it was deleted.
I'll have to agree with hoosier on this one, minnow. You've crossed the line on this forum too many times. If you end up in intensive care though, I'll send you a card, maybe a balloon also.
-------------- You know it's going to be a bad day when you cross thread the cap on the toothpaste.
