I'm a smoker, and I believe in respecting other people.  I'll take it outside, if asked, or if children are around.  Geo is right though, if I'm planning on dining out and not just grabbing a quick burger, I'm much more likely to go to a restaurant that has a smoking section.  A lot of eateries do have decent separation and smoke filtration system.

About ten years ago you could smoke in the Mall in the walkways it was decided to install a filteration system in the food court and only alow it there and Cafe Don'ls. Our Mall manager wanted a new office didn't get it so there is true story behind it.
