SB -Ask them about it.  I was in grad school when 9/11 happened.  I had one Muslim in my class.  He was the one in our class who was actually the most upset about the whole thing because that is "not what my religion is, and those bastards do not represent me nor my faith".

I think, the majority of any religion, believes in peace amongst all people.  Sadly there are those, again through out all religions, who are evil and decide to use a religion as a justification of their evil.  They then twist the word of their religion to suit their needs and garner them supporters.  They feed off of the weak minded and lost souls to come to their evil, twisted, belief to carry out their deeds.  How come the "leaders" of these groups are never the ones to martyr themselves?   BECAUSE THEY KNOW THEY ARE FULL OF crap

^^ what I saw on 9/11 were people that died horrifically, burned to death, crushed, jumped to their death. I was leased to a company that also had one of the depots in town. I stood there in the office watching it with some of the office people,  some were crying. It dawned on me that they weren't crying just for the savagery of the act we were watching but because they were watching the murder of people they dealt with on a daily basis, some of the steamship lines had offices in there.

Forgive me if I don't have a stitch of respect for the monsters.

I have no respect for the monsters who do that type of thing either, but you cant lump all Muslims in that group.  Just like you cant lump all Christians into similar groups.

Oh there are nutty Christians to be sure but not even a shadow to the fruitcakes in Islam. About the only active Christians I see in my travels are the ones that stand outside of planned parenthood in St. Paul 6 days a week.

what active Muslims do you see out and what are they doing?

Yep - those anti abortion Christians who bomb Planned Parenthood and kill the doctors who work there.

in most regards, ISIS is similar to the KKK if you want to discuss crazy extremes of a religion.

I haven't noticed any abortion clinic bombings as of late, nor have I seen any klan activity. Islam is a world wide cult, millions, billions? Strong. Your attempted comparison is weak

Agreed it was weak, however just trying to point out that there are "bad apples" in both major religions.

Could the current difference (far more bad going on from the Muslim side vs. Christian side) be party due to the age difference between the two?  Not a great religion historical mind but with Islam being about 600 years younger than Christianity, it could be part of the "growing" process within the religion, similar to the crusades.  Just a thought.

Regardless, it is bad, whenever anyone, regardless of their faith beliefs, do such things.  And, I believe, placing blame on a group is wrong and only serves the purpose of the bad ones, which is to divide all of us.

Boy, that kind of sounds like the D's and R's currently.  Part of the reason I believe we (America) needs a political revolution where we get some (at least 1) different political party that can bridge the gapping divide we currently have.

From an article posted on Facebook a couple years ago:

"Christian fundamentalism is based on the conviction that every word in the Bible is literally true and was handed down by God himself. In most Western developed nations, Christian fundamentalists represent a minority, loopy fringe. In America, however, one third believe in the literal interpretation of the Bible, while nearly 60 percent believe the Armageddon predictions in the Book of Revelation will come true."

Then there's the Westboro Baptist Church mob. They certainly don't pass the Sermon on the Mount smell test. And don't forget Forehead Lady, who won't issue marriage licenses to gay couples, because she somehow knows what God wants, just like those Westboro fruitcakes.

I knew a Muslim girl in college. She was from Tehran. She was one of the kindest spirits I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.

Someone likes to bandy the term "Nazi" around a lot, here. Well, take notice: If we condemn a whole religion over the actions of a small percentage of its followers (Twingroves: kill them all), well, you do the math.

Some here may condemn Liberalism, but that is the very collective of mechanisms designed to take us out of the darkness of fundamentalist thinking. You can't have it both ways. To try and do so is to return to Salem in the seventeenth century, or Mississippi in the 60's. This country was founded in an attempt to escape religious persecution, not to further it along, lest you forget.

Facebook? Land of click bait??  There was someone on here not long ago bitching about this site turning into Facebook.

I've known many Mullins all my life, from college to truck driving, some good but mostly bad. Their treatment of women being most offensive to me.

I don't remember Westboro bombing, stabbing, shooting or running over people with a truck but I'm not too fond of their tactics either.

Somebody uses the word Nazi?? Well maybe if the Nazi party did'nt run candidates like Pelosi, Waters, Sanders etc they wouldn't be referred to as that.
Conservatism, to me meaning self reliance, free enterprise, private property rights. This is what America was founded on.
