Jimmy Carter has a form of liver cancer and sounds like it has spread to other parts of his body. I find this sad because though I think he was an almost total disaster as a president he was IMHO the most honest politician I've ever seen.

Carter's presidency was successful, he's one of a few that didn't get US into some kind of war or other military entanglement such as a proxy war.
If you think about it this country has had more years of war then peace.

WTF was political about that? Carter was pretty much a pacifist, and he didn't get us into wars. Can you think of any other democrat or republican president that has done that in the last 60 years? And for living his life like a Christian he was, and still is, mocked by the people that pretend to be Christians.

He was honest? But didnt know a damn thing about running a nation.
Interest rates shot up to 17% under his Prez.

I can't say I agreed with everything he did while he was President, but he is a good, honest human being and he wil be missed.
I remember right after he was elected that there were rumors that he was selected by whomever "they" are to institute "The New World Order" on the United States. I think that was started by people who were unhappy that he got elected (those unhappy people include both Dems. and Reps.) He was probally one of the last canidates that was actually picked by the people and not the party machines. Allthough the Democrats could have literally run a donkey as their canidate in 1976 and won due to the overwhelming distrust of the post Nixon Republican party.
