I made some calls. The sooner he goes out on pension or retirement, the less it costs the county. Prior retires say that there is a benefit in retiring before the first of a month, and it is because of then you get two checks the first month of retirement, and I did't understand that. But the county quits paying into his pension the day he quits, and his payments come out of what he and the county paid in before. It only hurts his pension fund if anything.
*****I hope Belshan felt that an elected official should finish his term and not quit early for financial benefit. I think he is right in this case, and this item should not have been allowed to been brought to a vote. The term is set, they know it. Good for Belshan.

Why would want to stay and deal with a person who doesn't know what he is doing we will see in 4 years why Freeborn county made a mistake.
