I know the only thing that counts is what the score is when time runs out, but looking at the stats, you would have thought the Vikings lost again.

Who can explain this Josh Freeman transaction to me? I want to know why it is that the Vikings keep wasting money on head cases and garbage QBs.

The vikes were high on him during the draft but the bucs took him first. We eventually drafted Percy Harvin.
As for why they signed him, they got him relatively cheap as Tampa is still paying him from his contract with them. I think it is pretty obvious they are abandoning Ponder now. Matt Kassel I don't think is the answer either but he appears to me to be a more capable QB. He won't be upper echelon, but serviceable.
The upside with Freeman is he does have a history of good numbers, they might be hoping he can return to that form, plus he is only 25.
As for the vikes wasting money on garbage QBs. If there were good ones available we would have tried to sign by now. It's not as easy going to the store and buying one. The good ones are locked up for several years and they aren't going to trade them.
