Huge layoffs are to be expected by all of the larger retail stores about this time of year though. places like Wal-mart and Herburgers, Sears and Pennys always bring on extra help for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season, then let them go. Perfect for college kids looking to get some extra last minute cash.
The only problem is that sometimes the holiday season doesn't go that well and they have to start swing the axe at the meat of the company too.

Some of what is said here (myself included) is about as tolerable as listening to someone vacuum a cat.
