Reports that I've read believe that there were 2 U.S. drones in the area. There was also a Specter gun ship (C-130?) in the area for backup.
This would make sense since the Tyrone Woods was painting a target which was believed to have been an enemy Mortar unit.
A blog post from a person claiming to be a former Delta Operative stated the following: “Having spent a good bit of time nursing a GLD (ground Laser Designator) in several garden spots around the world, something from the report jumped out at me. One of the former SEALs was actively painting the target. That means that Specter WAS ON STATION! Probably an AC130U,” an airplane. A ground laser designator is not a briefing pointer laser. You do not ‘paint’ a target until the weapons system/designator is synched; which means that the AC130,” the Hercules, “was on station. Only two places could have called off the attack at that point; the WH situation command (based on [presidential] direction) or AFRICOM commander based on information directly from the target area.”
“If the AC130 never left [Italy] (as Penetta says) that means that the Predator that was filming the whole thing was armed. If that SEAL was actively ‘painting’ a target; something was on station to engage! And the decision to stand down goes directly to POTUS!”
No wonder they were trying to blame it on a youtbue video. 
The left can make all the excuses they want for Obummer, but if it looks like crap and it smells like crap, then guess what? It's crap.

I am glad the general and admiral disobeyed orders to stand down god knows I would have done the same thing if I was in that position I am surprised the anybody obeyed the order to stand down we don't leave our own the current administration civilians don't understand that nor will they.

Or, you could check the source that Rush had heard about, which is a random un-named blogger quoted by Blackfive website.
But, Blackfive and Rush at some points will specify that these sources are very trusted. And, when blogs and talk radio specifically say that UN-named bloggers they're using as sources are trusted, you know that you can throw critical thinking skills out the window. 
So, you've got a guy that used to point a laser for the DoD who apparently knows that this whole thing is Obama's fault. Because, pointing a laser would require knowledge of all of this, WH situation room and all. I admit, I was skeptical until I heard that a caller to the Rush Limbaugh show corroborated his story, since the caller identified himself as another person with knowledge of how this is all Obama's fault.
Of course, this could all be me or another random person making blog posts and calling AM radio to see how many people will believe it. 
But so far we've got blogs and a political action committee. I'd love to see credible information on this though, if there really is a scandal. So far this sounds like birth certificates and Fast and Furious, now that Issa's committee has run out of steam there had to be another scandal brought up. And before that it was Swift Boaters.

No, nobody admitted to listening to Rush Limbaugh, that was the point.
I occasionally Google quotes because posters don't always quote their sources or hyperlink, obviously some do, like usmcr and Maddog above. But I searched the quoted material and immediately my main hits are from random blogs who are using other random bloggers are sources, and Rush quotes the bloggers who quoted the guy who used to point lasers in garden spots.
And all of the bloggers and talk radio people are very emotional, but so were the people on the two minutes of hate.
