(This is my real name @ Aug. 03 2012,12:36 pm)
QUOTE (Botto 82 @ Aug. 03 2012,11:43 am)
QUOTE Either you stand with the Westboro Baptist Church kook funeral protesters and their ilk, or you don't. I'm sure some of you kooks approve of their methods and ideals. The CEO of Chick-fil-a did not say "God hates fags." He said in an interview in a Baptist magazine that he believed marriage was between a man and a woman. That's it. There is a huge difference between the two, but this has somehow morphed into some kind of hate speech. He didn't condemn anyone, resort to name calling, or project any hate. HE. STATED. HIS. BELIEFS. On that note, Westboro Baptist Church is not even a church. They are a hate group still using the name of a church and suing any time their Freedom of Speech is threatened. No churches stand with them, and most churches ignore them outright, not even dignifying them. Do not lump the two together. Being opposed to same-sex marriage is not the same thing as hating homosexuals. And does ANYONE here side with Westboro? At all? Precisely TIMRN.
Baptist times
It's been the frenzy of the left media to play this up. It will be interesting to see if there is any of the Occupy type vandalism or unruliness during this 'kiss-in.'
The president of Chick-fil-a did not refuse to serve or pass judgement on anyone. All he said was that they (the company) promote Christian biblical values.
If some don't like his companies values, no one is forcing them to eat there.
Like Cathy said, "We know that it might not be popular with everyone, but thank the Lord, we live in a country where we can share our values and operate on biblical principles.”

Pass judgement on anyone? He said essentially that if something really bad happens to America it's God's judgement on us for those audacious homos marrying whoever they want.
QUOTE In June and July 2012, Chick-fil-A COO Dan Cathy made several public statements supporting what he believes to be "the traditional family," saying about same-sex marriage that those who "have the audacity to define what marriage is about" were "inviting God's judgment on our nation".[35] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki..._stance

I think this has become more of a forcefeed of their lifestyle. If they choose to live that way, fine. It is your life, do with it as you choose. Do not shove it in my face and expect me to accept it. God knows, that is all that matters. What if puppy beaters showed up at the humane society, oh the outrage. This guy has the right to say what ever he wants, as long as it is legal.

I find it ironic that all the kook callers are bashing rights and rights are bashing lefts over this, all while being supported by the exact thing that started this whole debate- FREEDOM OF SPEECH, anyone trying to make this into something else obviously has an agenda they are trying to attach to this and promote it.

I think kooks should be free to say all the kooky things they want to. And I further think that sensible people should be able to call them on it. THAT is freedom of speech.

As soon as these two can procreate with each other, I"ll call it normal.
