-------------- If Al Gore's film "An Inconvenient Truth," is suitable for teaching about climatology, then Alfred Hitchcock's film the "The Birds," is a good candidate for teaching ornithology. - Russell Young “Maybe we should have a week for taxpayers who pay for everything,”. “Why don't you line that up?”

I'm assuming the 8 that voted for Obama, so far, are poor and can't earn their own money therefore wanting the government to redistibute the wealth in this country for them.
QUOTE I believe that Obama represents a fundamental departure in the underlying goal of the presidency. I think that for 50 years American presidents have emphasized growth. I think Obama, however, would be the first president perhaps since the 30s who emphasizes redistribution, or what he would call “fairness,” over growth. And I think his tax policies represent a deliberate sacrifice of economic growth in order to achieve greater redistribution of income.
They mimic or parallel the policies of European Socialists in doing so. Where essentially Europe has said we're not going to grow quickly but instead we’re going to redistribute income and try to help people who are further down. Of course in the United States, we do redistribute income dramatically.
The top 1 percent pays a third of the taxes and the top 10 percent pays two-thirds of the taxes. -Dick Morris

I find bits and pieces of what Obama and McCane are saying to be interesting but it's just campaign rhetoric and will quickly be forgotten when November has pasted. Taxation without representation comes to mind.. Once again I'll use quote from my old friend W.C. Fields " I never vote for anyone but I always vote against someone." it's described my voting pattern for many years....

GOP Website Why did the GOP change it's logo (The Elephant) eight years ago with inverted stars? Compare the way the logo stars are to the stars of the official flag.
There are those that say an upside down flag is a sign of distress, but any hard core right winger I know (including one of my very good friends) sees it as a sign of disrespect and anti-americanism.
Just reflect on the whole "lapel pin scandal."

Interesting...I never gave it a thought...
Is there some sort of conspiracy here? I doubt it. Or maybe I'm just being naive.
