Is the Good Samaritan Society Albert Lea operating by state code since they fired the lead maintenance person and replaced him with the Environmental Services Directors son in law? My understanding is that this guy hasn't even started the boilers course at Riverland yet. Is this ok or not? How would a person find out? And who would you contact? The Dept. of Health?

Is that the only person they had with an engineers license? Depending on the rated HP and location of the boiler it only may need to be checked once a day.

Regulation actually falls under the Dept of Labor and Industry http://www.dli.mn.gov/CCLD/Boiler.asp

The guy that got fired I understand had an operators permit. I guess one of the maint. fellows still there needs only to test out but can only work under a lisenced boiler operator. No one has that lisence yet. Thanks for the info.

Thats a very good question. It seems so in many ways since she has 2 daughters working as lpns at Good Sams, also. One of the daughters is married to the new lead man. Just had a baby. I suppose they might need more money. Also his only experience prior to being a maintenance man was being a foreman at a construction company. What do you think about that?

I'd say it probably makes him overqualified.

Thank you nOesc for your information on the boilers license. According to my research, Good Sams is operating illegally by not having a licensed boiler operating license. The one guy has a class c and must work only under a person who is qualified. The "son in law" who is the lead maintenance man hasn't even taken the boilers course yet! Wow! Would the administration there really be that careless given the past abuse situation? Amazing. They need to clean house at the top. Time to call the Star Tribune. Having no luck with state inspectors. They don't call back. Must be busy taking coffee breaks on our tax dollars.
