No, I don't think so. Parents need to be parents, to actually be responsible for their children.

I can see drug testing the parents if they're on welfare.

It would be alright if it included the  faculty and administration and those administering the tests. But not really, I think it is an invasion of privacy.   It does not take much to figure out who is and who isn't without this.  It will not change anything, except some one will get to collect and spend any money collected thru fines, someone will get paid to do them and someone will get paid to sell the tests.

It's not really that expensive, I pay a couple hundred a year to belong to a pool.
If they test positive for drugs they cease collecting all benefits. No SNAP , no housing, no medical till the test negative. They would also have to pay for the retest out of their pocket.

I was referring to the school testing only.

That's probably the only test you could pass...

As for drug testing people on public assistance, it's been proven that such a program costs more than it saves. No thanks.

I know a trucker or two that went in to the testing process with fake pee, and got hired. So much for the validity of that program.

^ yep, I'm heard of that too. The safeguards are nonexistent.

But there is the random and if they're selected they have two hours to report.
