three lanes with the one down the middle as a designated turn lane! what i see is just more confusion with all the zinging & zaging! at times it is like a zoo out there with autos going every which direction. they now want to tear out the only service road out there. imho that is the crust of the problem in the original design with out service roads on both sides. with service roads they could control the exits & entrys onto bridge ave. now it is catch as catch can & consequently you have uncontrolled traffic problems! according to the article in the trib they are not going to address the problem with the outlet of plaza onto brdige ave at all. this situation on bridge st imho will only get worse with this type of thinking! in the winter the markings will not even be visible. be alert when driving this stretch as a great majority of drivers do not even attempt even cursory stop before zipping onto bridge ave. i predict more accidents in this stretch of road.

They probably should have just left it alone; and left that service road in there, that seemed to be adequate and do the trick.

Perhaps someone was on a government funded fact finding mission some place; and saw some urban sprawl traffic control mechanism design that caught their eye. And they want to duplicate that.

So Albert Lea can be like the big guys; or something.

Although according to the local GOP contingent that went to this redistricting session; Albert Lea is like Blue Earth.
