Yea I know, you're right. Sometimes they even change their name altogether, in entertainment.

Sometimes it just strikes me as odd when others do it.

I suppose that could be. Or maybe she didn't like having the word gross associated with her.

Maybe it is a common thing with that name.

It looks like Rex Grossman's wife isn't listed as Alison Grossman:
