There are reports that an Iraq war veteran is in critical condition after being shot in the head by either a rubber bullet or gas canister. Ironically the only news website covering this is British...

Yes, his name is Scott Olsen. People who were there said the police weren't even shooting the tear gas canisters into the air, some of the police were shooting them directly into the protesters. I hope and pray Mr. Olsen will be ok.
There are alot of military people joining this movement. There are many still stationed in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other places who agree with this movement.
I'd like to share some of the items I've found.

The truth of what has happened in Oakland is trying to be hidden. Each time the police began firing tear gas and flashbangs into the crowd, all of the media cameras that were covering it live went mysteriously blank. I was watching an ABC local station live helicopter cam, it went black, after thousands of us were calling the station and messaging them via twitter, they told us they had to refuel and would come back later. Ten minutes later the camera was back. This happened three times, and each time it was within a minute or two of the teargas being fired. Rubber bullets too. Luckily, almost everyone has cell phones now, and there are people setting up new livestreams every day at these protests so there are witnesses to the truth of what happens.
Youtube is full of videos from all the occupies, showing everything from amazing and rallying speeches, to everything else that happens at the occupies.
Check out this picture taken last night at the Oakland protest. A woman in a wheelchair was having problems getting away from the tear gas. A group of young men saw her and ran to help her get out of the gas quicker.

does your u-tube show what the protesters have done to surrounding bussiness? or homes? or is that just mainstream media trying to paint the protesters in a bad light.

That's right, I forgot you like to assume things.
I never said all the protesters are innocent. I know some of them are troublemakers. I know some of the troubles other protesters have had in trying to keep some under control. I rely on unreliables?? I've been watching these livestreams and seeing things with my own eyes since the start of this. I have had long talks with many of the protesters, and I know very well what sorts of problems some of the cities are having with fellow protesters.
