I believe you are correct. What a great choice that was (dull) (finger) the fed.

Ben Bernanke has been appointed to replace Alan Greenspan. This happened in Oct. of 2005 and was a big mistake. End the Fed.

Both Bush presidents didn't like Greenspan. They both felt that he help elect Clinton over Bush #1. Greenspan had his problems, but I wonder if Bernanke's appointment wasn't anybody other than Greenspan.

Wasn't that before Obama was elected?... ...what party was in power? Wasn't alot of those that voted for him in congress and the senate still there? If the fed is eliminated what will take it's place?... ...ned Ned, I had never heard much mention of The Federal Reserve before these protests began. I have been reading up on things about it when I can, unfortunately (and I know I am setting myself up for bashing right now) I am not smart enough to understand it a whole lot. I did find some interesting things though. -----------------------------------
No Congress, no President has been strong enough to stand up to the foreign-controlled Federal Reserve Bank. Yet there is a catch - one that President Kennedy recognized before he was slain - the original deal in 1913 creating the Federal Reserve Bank had a simple backout clause. The investors loaned the United States Government $1 billion. And the backout clause allows the United States to buy out the system for that $1 billion. If the Federal Reserve Bank were demolished and the Congress of the United States took control of the currency, as required in the Constitution, the National Debt would virtually end overnight, and the need for more taxes and even the income tax, itself. Thomas Jefferson was concise in his early warning to the American nation, "If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issuance of their currency, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all their property until their children will wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered."

There sure are alot of websites dedicated to the problems of the federal reserve.

Yes, sadly so Grinning Dragon, I really had never heard anything about it before. I've devoted years to many other problems, but that one escaped my radar! I wonder what other things many of us have been in the dark about.

Well, basically what should've happened is a giant transfer of wealth, one that never took place. The big banks should have collapsed and the government should have made funds available to smaller existing banks. The pain would've been greater initially, but the recovery would be much sooner with a system in place that would be better in the long run.
TARP killed us. Now the recovery will last 15-20 years instead of 5.
The top 1% were allowed to keep their wealth when they should have lost it. and were even given more money and now WE must have minimums in our bank accounts and pay for debit cards.
