Looks like it's time to retire the old police scanner since they just switched over to their new radio system.
Luckily there's still radioreference.com

How long before that's obsolete? Technology and just about everything else today seems to be on the replace at least every 3 years or less schedule it seems.
It's starting to remind of those old Smokehouse almonds ads.

I beleive so.
I was driving to work the other morning and a cop pulled up next to me and my picture was on his computer. Couldnt beleive it.My innocent ass going to work and they are pulling up my DL

If you've got an ipod, iphone, or android device you can download free police scanner apps in for your phone. I've used both and they seem to have the same irritating feed where the ham radio people occasionally make you want to smash your device.

But Lib..here is the really nifty part. You can go in thru Radio reference and make a channel where it is JUST PD, SD, and FD if you want...once you have your scanner of course. Tho I DID hear a channel one time where someone took just the PD and SD channels from somewhere else and linked them to RR...maybe you could do that?
I understand about the local HAMs. Something of interest is going down then all of a sudden call letters ring out...

No offense intended to any Ham radio knuckleheads that might be reading, but I really can't believe the stupid stuff they talk about.
