Despite the growing scandal involving failed solar company Solyndra - now officially four weeks old - MSNBC's Chris Matthews, Lawrence O'Donnell, Ed Schultz, and Al Sharpton have still not reported the matter on their respective prime time programs.
The only regular MSNBC host to mention this subject in prime time is Rachel Maddow who predictably discounted its importance Monday (transcript and commentary follow):
RACHEL MADDOW: The federal government is quietly investing in renewable energy and making energy more affordable and more renewable. Happens in ways you don`t hear about much unless you read
-------------- accept the Bible just as it is, for exactly what it claims to be. dont worry about the theories of the critics. the ingenious and impudent effort of modern criticism to undermine the historical reliability of the Bible will pass; and THE BIBLE itself will stand as the Light of the human race..
The media hiding important issues?? I can't believe it, that can't be true. The media tells us everything we need to know, in a fair, balanced and unbiased way.

According to preliminary NASA estimates, it would cost $17 billion to $22 billion to ready the new rocket and Orion capsule for a test flight in December 2017 that would put an unmanned capsule into a lunar orbit. An additional $12 billion to $16 billion would be needed to launch the first crew on a lunar flyby in August 2021.
Why don't we hear about the waste of money involed in sending man to a big frikin lifeless rock that we've already been to and this time we're not even going to land on it?
Does it involve LARGE amounts of money by way of guaranteed gov't loans to people that were connected to the President in one way or another?

When President Bush established his new space exploration policy to return humans to the moon, NASA estimated the policy would cost $230 billion (in 2004 dollars) through 2025. This figure includes the Commercial Crew and Cargo program, which is separate from the Constellation program. NASA has estimated that the Constellation program would cost over $97 billion (in 2008 dollars) through 2020, half of which would be for Ares I and Orion.
On February 1, 2010, the President's proposed budget was released, which included no funding for the project. President Obama's response to critics is that the lifetime for the International Space Station would be extended by an additional five years and an additional US$6 billion would be paid to private companies for shuttling astronauts to and from it after the Space Shuttle program ends while NASA develops new technology for future space exploration missions.
Hey, I am not defending W. on any of his spending policies either. But this about the current POS in the office and his ideas of creating jobs. To the tune of like $45M per job. FAIL. The guy is an economic idiot.

Or a $737M guaranteed government loan to a company that will create 45 permanent jobs whose executive director is our former house speaker's brother in law?

Subsidies are part of the reason we are in this mess. Gov't should get the hell out of private business and the manipulation of pricing via subsidies. And companies are sitting on the millions overseas cuz they are getting taxed to death if they bring it home. What would you do?

That only leaves the government..
what a great idea, cuz the stimulus I and II and bailouts work so well.

Bailouts LOL. Seems Ford has been doing quite well since the bail out of the other POS automakers.
