During the hunt – which the organisers later admitted was badly carried out – it was alleged that Cecil was lured at night about half a mile out of the national park using bait, and then shot with a bow and arrow. The next day he was found wounded by the hunters and killed, before being beheaded and skinned.
Animals cannot be killed within the confines of the park. The hunters then removed his collar – further contravening park rules.
I remember being down at Tom's Taxidermy in Clarks Grove in the 90's and seeing a lion there. I think he said he was doing the job for somebody from Chicago maybe it was. At that time he was saying it was around $25-30,000 I think it was with all with the permits and flight to Zambia. Which was where that particular lion had been taken from. He might have been figuring in his fees for the total, too. I forget. heh
I remember it looking sort of skinny and sickly.
Apparently this lion which has been turned into a lion skin rug of sorts. Cost $55,000.
According to the telegraph they get 18,500 trophy hunters in Africa every year.
So wow! What a revenue generator!
And when you shell out that kind of dough you're going to want to have your desires fulfilled.
I don't know anything about big game hunting in Africa. But hunting outside a game refuge at night to lure animals away from there doesn't seem very ethical.
It looks like in the daylight video you can sort of see the collar on the lion as well. And you would think the people involved would be acutely aware of these sorts of things.
^^ thankfully I don't watch that poor excuse of a human being.
What network in he on again?
Cecil of course was the doormat the liberals used with the media to take news away from discovered issues justifying prison sentences for many and defunding an absolute.
